Armed violence in Sudan is putting children at risk.
Children have been killed, injured and displaced from home, and the conflict is disrupting critical services on which families depend. Thousands of people are fleeing the capital Khartoum and other cities.
At least 55 children have been injured and nine children killed. Many are trapped in the crossfire, and more and more are fleeing their homes out of fear for their lives.
The situation for children in Sudan was already very fragile. Over 600,000 children are estimated to be severely malnourished. Life-saving treatment and other health services are now being disrupted. The routine immunization rate has fallen rapidly since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic with one in six children completely unprotected.
All schools have closed, depriving children of a sense of normality and safety, as well as worsening the existing learning crisis.

How will my donation help children?
Our priorities are the safe passage and protection of children, families and our staff across Sudan.
We’re expanding our existing work to support children without parents or guardians and displaced families. We’re securing and mobilising life-saving supplies, and we’re helping treat injuries and getting emergency education services, clean water and mental health support to children.
