It’s the little things.

You don’t have to travel far from home to capture the sense of adventure and discovery photography provides. In fact, for Angie Payne, wonderment is just outside her front door. 

As a macro photographer, it’s the little things that make her pick up her camera over and over. A blade of grass growing through a leaf, a droplet of water, the delicate wing of a damselfly, all reveal something of the beauty and interconnectedness of the natural world from the comfort of a worn patch of grass.

I used to think nature was really just the far away places that were untouched, hard to get to, high commitment. I realized there's really amazing stuff that nature does everywhere, you just have to prioritize wanting to see it and stop.”
